"Boss Lady" ?

I've recently been told that I am a "boss lady". I didn't think about it until that point, but now looking back on my life, I can see how I have grown into that title. Or at least I hope to do that.

Since elementary school, I was always using my hands and working on different projects. Making feather earrings at 8 years old, making bookmarks from scrap paper, and customizing bracelets, I had so much fun creating.

Not only could I expand my creativity, but I also learned that I could make money! At that point my motivation was to be able to buy more supplies so that I could get more things to sell!

My brother and sister have always been "smarter" than me in school. My mom has always wanted an Airstream camper and would say, "Tenace or Kiana (my siblings) will be the ones to make a lot of money and buy me my Airstream". Now that's my motivation. I'm buying that Airstream!

While studying at university, my eyes have expanded to new opportunities. I learned that I was an "entrepreneur." Through competing in a business competition, I learned that scaling a business is key (depending on how you define success). This is when I built Shaka Tribe with my friend at the time, who is now my fiancé.

It is a humbling experience to be an entrepreneur because you always have to be willing to learn from others. This route also comes with many mistakes and dealing with uncertain situations. I have learned to put my trust and gratitude in God and know that there is someone who is actually providing the miracles in my life.

Here's to more years of living up to the title of "boss lady".
